Teachers need items and supplies that the school budget cannot provide. Allocations happen in the spring and fall. We meet with Mule Pushers, Mule Team, and facuilty to decide which organization the requests fall under. We consider how many children the items will help, if there are any outside funding sources, and how much of each allocation request we can support (not all allocations can be fully funded, and due to limited resources, and the number of allocation requests, some aren't funded at all).
This money is raised by joining the PTSO, selling HEB cards, Dinning out nights, and other fundraisers we have.
The PTSO has given out in allocations the following:
- During the 2018-19 school year, the PTSO gave out almost $50,000.00 in allocations.
- On the 2019-2020 school year, PTSO gave $25,000.00 in fall allocations. The spring allocations were on hold due to the early school closure. PTSO gave $31,000 as 2020-2021 Fall Allocations to cover the spring allocations.
